Base Salary
$250k - $325k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and implement monitoring, logging, tracing, dashboards, and metrics for comprehensive observability.
- Define and track SLOs and SLIs with product and engineering teams.
- Lead high-impact incident response, post-mortems, runbook development, and preventative improvements.
- Build automation, self-healing systems, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code solutions.
- Optimize large-scale Kubernetes, Docker, and GCP deployments for performance, capacity, latency, and reliability.
- Debug distributed systems and implement long-term fixes across the technology stack.
- Review system and feature designs for reliability, scalability, security, and operational integrity.
- Mentor engineers and promote reliability practices across the engineering organization.
- Write well-tested Python or Go code for internal tools and third-party integrations.
Requirements
- 8–10 years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering or related DevOps, systems engineering, or infrastructure engineering roles.
- Strong programming ability in Python or Go with experience writing high-quality, well-tested code.
- Deep understanding of distributed systems and service-oriented architectures in production.
- Deep experience with Kubernetes, container orchestration, and cloud-native technologies.
- Experience designing and maintaining monitoring and observability solutions.
- Extensive incident-management and incident-response experience for complex systems.
- Experience with infrastructure as code, including Terraform or Pulumi, and configuration-management tools.
- Strong written, verbal, interpersonal, mentoring, and technical communication skills.
- Willingness to debug and improve any layer of the technology stack.
- Preferred experience includes GCP, Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, OpenTelemetry, high-throughput and low-latency systems, Go, Terraform, startup environments, and company-facing technical content.
