Responsibilities
- Design and implement secure, scalable, performant, and highly available cloud architectures for clients.
- Deploy and manage cloud resources, containers, networking, security, access controls, and related services using Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Develop automated provisioning, monitoring, scaling, and deployment processes, including CI/CD pipelines.
- Monitor and optimise cloud infrastructure, and implement load balancing, caching, backup, and disaster recovery solutions.
- Create runbooks and configuration management procedures, provide high-tier client application and infrastructure support, and participate in occasional on-call cover.
- Evaluate cloud services and tools, promote cloud best practices, share knowledge, and help maintain compliance standards and certifications.
Requirements
- Prior experience in a cloud engineering role building and deploying services in the cloud.
- Knowledge of AWS, Azure, and GCP cloud platforms.
- Hands-on software delivery experience and knowledge of modern software engineering practices.
- Experience with containerisation and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Eligibility for SC security clearance, generally requiring five years of continuous UK residency and a five-year employment history or history back to full-time education.
- Desirable qualifications include technology consultancy experience, multidisciplinary team experience, relevant cloud certifications, knowledge of AWS APN and Azure Partners, well-architected frameworks, UK public-sector technology guidance, Python, Bash, JavaScript, Scrum, XP, Kanban, and Test Driven Development.
