Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain low-latency order routers connecting to exchanges, brokers, system integrators, and other liquidity sources.
- Design and implement software for new markets, exchange-driven upgrades, new requirements, and production break-fixes.
- Participate in the full project lifecycle from requirements and design through deployment and ongoing support.
- Perform exchange certification, regression testing, application configuration, and deployment, including occasional weekend work with time off in lieu.
- Support existing production infrastructure and contribute to modernization of the Exchange Connectivity platform and adoption of agentic tooling.
- Provide L3 support and translate FIX messages into exchange-specific protocols.
- Communicate with product leads, business units, and technical teams to coordinate projects and improve technology solutions.
- Manage multiple functions and guide junior staff and initiatives.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of relevant experience.
- Strong C++ knowledge and advanced expertise in low-latency or high-performance engineering.
- In-depth understanding of object-oriented principles, design patterns, and threading techniques.
- Experience working in Unix/Linux environments and with distributed applications in a service-based architecture.
- Subject matter expertise in exchange-specific protocols, certification processes, regulatory requirements, and production operations.
- Understanding of AI and machine-learning applications.
- Ability to collaborate, multitask, stay organized, manage multiple functions, and guide junior staff and initiatives.
