Responsibilities
- Support field sales by helping customers understand the value of Kong’s API Management platform.
- Gather customer requirements and build trusted relationships throughout the sales lifecycle from product review through production.
- Support proof-of-concepts throughout the evaluation process.
- Ensure customer satisfaction across assigned accounts.
- Prioritize customer needs and coordinate with support, product, and engineering teams.
- Create technical documentation for DevOps, implementations, and services engagements.
- Onboard and train new customers and help establish revenue potential with existing customers.
Requirements
- 7+ years of software engineering and/or sales engineering management experience at a SaaS, open source, or enterprise software company.
- Candidates with post-sales or technical support backgrounds may be considered if they have aptitude for technical sales.
- Solid understanding of cloud computing trends and open source business models.
- Strong listening and communication skills.
- Ability to lead discussions with Product Managers, Engineers, and Executives.
- Experience with open source technology and knowledge of NGINX, Docker, HTTP, AWS, Postgres, and Cassandra are desired.
- Experience with Docker, Linux operating systems, and CI/CD pipelines is a plus.
- Knowledge of Kubernetes, DCOS/Mesos, and Docker Swarm is a plus.
