Responsibilities
- Lead architectural engagements with Mastercard clients, including discovery, requirements definition, and solution design.
- Define end-to-end architectures for Mastercard products, client-led initiatives, and Mastercard Engage partner solutions.
- Serve as the primary architectural authority for Deploy-led engagements and guide engineering teams through implementation.
- Balance client requirements, Mastercard standards, security controls, scalability, and maintainability in architectural decisions.
- Produce solution diagrams, architecture decision records, integration designs, and technical documentation.
- Communicate architecture to clients, developers, QA teams, product managers, and senior stakeholders.
- Identify technical risks and collaborate with delivery teams to resolve challenges.
- Follow Mastercard security policies, protect information confidentiality and integrity, report suspected breaches, and complete mandatory security training.
Requirements
- Advanced experience designing and delivering solution architectures in banking, payments, or broader financial services.
- Strong experience working directly with clients to elicit requirements, manage ambiguity, and align stakeholders on architecture decisions.
- Ability to define and communicate complex distributed-system architectures to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience collaborating with architects, developers, QA, product managers, and delivery leads in a matrixed environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presenting and defending architectural approaches at senior levels.
- Experience with public cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, and/or Google Cloud Platform is desirable.
- Cloud architecture certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect, AWS Solutions Architect, or GCP Professional Architect are advantageous.
- Experience with API-driven, microservices-based, or large-scale distributed systems is desirable.
- Familiarity with payment ecosystems, fintech integrations, or Mastercard products and platforms is desirable.
