Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain robust PHP backend services capable of handling high-volume global traffic.
- Implement functional APIs and optimize database query performance.
- Contribute to modular, resilient, service-oriented architecture.
- Write clean, maintainable code using SOLID principles, object-oriented practices, and design patterns.
- Debug and resolve issues across the application stack.
- Integrate queues and basic event-driven processes for asynchronous work.
- Collaborate with senior engineers and product teams to deliver technical solutions.
- Participate in the on-call rotation to support 24/7 service reliability.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of professional backend development experience with PHP.
- Professional experience with Laravel or strong Symfony experience with willingness to transition to Laravel.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, interfaces, and code modularity.
- Solid SQL knowledge, including indexing, migrations, and basic query optimization.
- Ability to use, prompt, validate, and iterate with AI tools during technical tasks.
- Familiarity with Docker and basic CI/CD pipeline troubleshooting.
- Experience writing unit and feature tests.
- Fluent English communication skills for remote collaboration.
- Candidates must already reside in Spain and be fully eligible to work there.
- Experience with Redis or Memcached, AWS, SaaS or travel technology, eSIM or GSMA technologies, and distributed systems is a bonus.
