Responsibilities
- Lead the design of high-performance distributed systems capable of handling global traffic.
- Develop and refine backend services to improve scalability and efficiency.
- Drive the transition toward service-oriented architecture for modularity and resilience.
- Enforce SOLID principles, design patterns, code quality, and testing standards.
- Coach mid-level engineers through code reviews and technical knowledge sharing.
- Identify service bottlenecks and implement advanced caching and database strategies.
- Partner with Product and DevOps to translate complex requirements into scalable technical roadmaps.
- Participate in the on-call rotation to maintain service reliability across global operations.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of professional backend development experience with deep PHP expertise.
- At least 4 years building enterprise-grade applications with Laravel or equivalent senior-level Symfony experience.
- Strong knowledge of distributed systems, event-driven architecture, and messaging patterns such as SQS or Pub/Sub.
- Ability to use, prompt, validate, and iterate with AI tools during technical work.
- Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases, including performance tuning and transactions at scale.
- Experience architecting on AWS and managing containerized environments with Docker.
- Commitment to clean code, automated testing, and CI/CD best practices.
- Fluent English and ability to explain complex technical trade-offs to stakeholders.
- Bonus: experience with SaaS/PaaS, SOA, microservices, eSIM or GSMA technologies, Traveltech solutions, or custom SDKs.
