Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain both front-end and back-end application components.
- Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code primarily in Java, with opportunities to use Python and other languages.
- Design, implement, and optimize data storage solutions using relational databases such as DB2 and Oracle.
- Participate in SAFe Agile development activities, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Use Git and GitHub for source control and collaboration.
- Perform unit testing, debugging, and troubleshooting to maintain code quality and reliability.
- Collaborate with developers through code reviews and constructive peer feedback.
- Work with technical leads, product owners, and architects to implement investment management solutions.
- Support and directly interact with portfolio managers, traders, compliance officers, and other stakeholders.
- Stay current with industry trends and software engineering best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related work experience in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- At least 5+ years of hands-on corporate software development experience.
- Proficiency in Java or similar languages such as Python or C#.
- Hands-on SQL experience and knowledge of relational databases.
- Experience with Agile development methodologies.
- Experience with Git or other version control systems.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, debugging, and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Interest or experience in finance or asset management is preferred.
- Familiarity with continuous integration and continuous deployment tools and practices is preferred.
- Experience writing and implementing unit tests, such as with JUnit, is preferred.
