Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain both front-end and back-end application components.
  • Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code primarily in Java, with opportunities to use Python and other languages.
  • Design, implement, and optimize data storage solutions using relational databases such as DB2 and Oracle.
  • Participate in SAFe Agile development activities, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
  • Use Git and GitHub for source control and collaboration.
  • Perform unit testing, debugging, and troubleshooting to maintain code quality and reliability.
  • Collaborate with developers through code reviews and constructive peer feedback.
  • Work with technical leads, product owners, and architects to implement investment management solutions.
  • Support and directly interact with portfolio managers, traders, compliance officers, and other stakeholders.
  • Stay current with industry trends and software engineering best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related work experience in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • At least 5+ years of hands-on corporate software development experience.
  • Proficiency in Java or similar languages such as Python or C#.
  • Hands-on SQL experience and knowledge of relational databases.
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies.
  • Experience with Git or other version control systems.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, debugging, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Interest or experience in finance or asset management is preferred.
  • Familiarity with continuous integration and continuous deployment tools and practices is preferred.
  • Experience writing and implementing unit tests, such as with JUnit, is preferred.
