
Lead Site Reliability Engineer - Network

Responsibilities
- Own the reliability, availability, performance, and recoverability of mission-critical network services.
- Lead major incident response, problem management, root-cause analysis, and durable remediation efforts.
- Conduct resiliency design reviews and provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to other engineers.
- Define service-level indicators, objectives, error budgets, observability practices, and resilience targets with stakeholders.
- Architect automation using Python, Shell, and Ansible to reduce toil and enable guarded self-healing and remediation.
- Provide technical leadership across SD-WAN, SDA, SDN, routing and switching, firewalls, load balancers, proxies, and related network services.
- Drive resilience testing, readiness reviews, FMEA-style risk analysis, change safety, and post-incident learning.
- Lead adoption of AI-assisted reliability workflows while validating outputs and maintaining traceability, auditability, resiliency, and security controls.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in site reliability engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
- Proficiency in reliability, scalability, performance, security, enterprise architecture, and toil reduction.
- Fluency in at least one programming language such as Python, Java/Spring Boot, or .NET.
- Experience using enterprise-authorized AI capabilities to improve SRE workflows, with strong validation practices and awareness of data sensitivity.
- Ability to evaluate AI-assisted operational recommendations, define usage guardrails, and align outcomes with resiliency and security expectations.
- Knowledge of white-box and black-box monitoring, service-level objective alerting, telemetry collection, continuous integration and delivery practices, and container orchestration.
- Experience troubleshooting common networking technologies and issues.
- Preferred qualifications include large-scale network engineering, major incident and RCA leadership, Python/Shell/Ansible automation, SRE and FMEA expertise, stakeholder management, and independent delivery leadership.
