Responsibilities

Lead the design and implementation of the next-generation data platform, focusing on distributed SQL and NoSQL databases.
Support requirements gathering, technical design, development, testing, deployment, and production support across the software development lifecycle.
Evaluate and adopt AI-assisted operational tooling for database reliability and SQL performance tuning.
Identify data-platform gaps and conduct proofs of concept and experiments to propose solutions.
Collaborate with Product and development teams to influence the roadmap and deliver data solutions.
Stay current with data technologies and educate the organization on database and platform best practices.
Lead database projects, mentor engineers, and influence technical direction across teams.

At least 8 years of experience operating SQL and NoSQL databases reliably at scale.
At least 5 years of experience designing, building, and operating highly available, distributed, scalable cloud databases using AWS services.
Experience architecting secure, reliable, production-grade cloud infrastructure.
Deep expertise with infrastructure-as-code tools, container orchestration, and CI/CD pipelines.
Strong programming experience in Python, Go, Java, or similar languages for automation, tooling, and platform services.
Experience designing and delivering production-grade platform solutions.
Expertise applying AI-assisted SQL optimization, code generation, and debugging tools.
Experience leading database projects, mentoring engineers, and influencing technical direction.
Exceptional communication and leadership skills for driving technical discussions, influencing stakeholders, and building consensus.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
