Responsibilities
- Coach engineers through one-to-ones, pair programming, workshops, office hours, and cohorts on prompting, workflow design, and model and tool selection.
- Capture and propagate effective AI-assisted development practices through guides, prompt libraries, troubleshooting playbooks, a knowledge base, and a skills registry.
- Establish and support embedded AI champion networks to scale enablement across teams.
- Identify adoption blockers, support engineers with AI tooling issues, identify systemic patterns, and escalate issues to leadership.
- Build internal AI integrations and reusable Node.js, TypeScript, and MCP tooling from prototype through production, including authentication, access control, security review, and CI/CD.
- Evaluate AI tools, models, and internal integrations and provide actionable recommendations on tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, and Copilot/Codex.
- Define and track adoption and productivity metrics and build dashboards covering usage, assistant acceptance, pull request throughput, cycle time, and change failure rate.
- Partner with security and compliance on guardrails and with GTM teams to translate field needs into enablement.
- Work hands-on with non-engineering teams to turn AI capabilities into measurable productivity improvements.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience shipping as a senior, hands-on engineer in a product-driven environment.
- Strong full-stack background with proficiency in Node.js and TypeScript, plus working knowledge of relational and document databases.
- Deep hands-on fluency with Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, and end-to-end AI-assisted development workflows.
- Experience independently taking internal integrations from prototype to production, including design, authentication and authorization, deployment, security review, and CI/CD.
- Experience integrating third-party APIs and agent-tooling protocols such as MCP.
- Working knowledge of LLMs, prompting, RAG, orchestration, agentic flows, and AI/tooling security.
- Strong teaching, facilitation, and technical-writing skills for working with engineers at different levels.
- Ability to influence without authority and coordinate with IT, DevOps, security, and GTM.
- Ability to independently structure ambiguous problems, prioritize input, and drive initiatives to completion.
- C1 English proficiency for written and verbal technical communication.
- Familiarity with OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, or similar observability tools is preferred.
- Experience with edge or serverless compute such as Workers, Durable Objects, or KV is preferred.
- Experience operating an internal plugin or package registry or marketplace is preferred.
- Developer experience, developer advocacy, internal tooling, instructional design, learning science, large-scale workshops, hackathons, or distributed remote-first organization experience is preferred.
