Responsibilities
- Design, develop, modify, integrate, test, debug, and document complex information systems, programs, subroutines, and scripts.
- Design and deliver enterprise API integration solutions in partnership with application teams.
- Develop and implement program and system test plans and data verification methods.
- Support production environments through incident response, release management, deployments, and performance-event response.
- Reduce system downtime and prevent recurrence of system failures and problems.
- Improve API performance, governance, reliability, scalability, and overall platform health.
- Act as an expert technical resource for development staff throughout development and implementation.
- Research software and hardware products to support recommendations, budgeting, and purchasing decisions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- At least 5 years of systems and programming experience.
- At least 1 year of experience with information technology concepts, application development methodology, terminology, and standards.
- At least 1 year of expert working knowledge of a programming language used at BCBST.
- Strong experience with APIs and IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE); hands-on experience with IBM API Connect is preferred.
- Experience designing and documenting integration solutions with attention to interoperability, security, and performance.
- Proficiency in programming languages and tools relevant to integration and application development.
- Proven API design, development, and management experience.
- Strong analysis, design, coding, communication, organization, and multitasking skills.
- Demonstrated success leading large and complex projects and translating technical concepts for technical and business audiences.
- Healthcare industry experience is preferred.
