Responsibilities
- Own and evolve the GDPR Orchestrator and its data-retention, deletion, anonymization, and pseudonymization capabilities.
- Build and operate platform safety mechanisms such as preview or dry-run functionality, audit trails, observability, deploys, on-call, and incident response.
- Create documentation, templates, libraries, and self-service tooling that enable product areas to manage their own data rules and dependencies.
- Coordinate legal, security, data, and product teams on requirements, dependencies, platform design, and trade-offs.
- Drive the platform roadmap and expand its capabilities across data stores, third-party systems, and new countries.
- Write, deploy, and operate production code primarily in Python and TypeScript.
Requirements
- Typically 8+ years of backend or platform software engineering experience, or equivalent, with deep production ownership.
- Experience building and operating platforms, libraries, or services that other engineers depend on.
- Experience with API and contract design, data modeling, and running software in production.
- Ability to influence and align multiple teams without direct authority and drive cross-area initiatives to completion.
- Hands-on experience with rollouts, alerting, on-call, and incident response.
- Strongly preferred experience with privacy, GDPR, data governance, enabling teams, or platform-team operating models.
- Fluent English is required; French is not required.
- Deep legal expertise is explicitly not required.
