Responsibilities
- Design and implement comprehensive test plans and strategies for software functionality, quality standards, and compliance.
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks for API, UI, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing.
- Collaborate with development, business, QA, and other cross-functional teams on requirements, design discussions, acceptance criteria, and defect resolution.
- Perform root cause analysis, provide detailed defect information, and support developers in resolving quality issues.
- Participate in code reviews and promote code quality, automation standards, testing governance, and knowledge sharing.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD and DevOps delivery processes.
- Contribute to quality engineering improvements, risk identification, testing governance, and technology communities.
- Mentor engineers and help establish an automation-first quality engineering culture across teams.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience designing, developing, and maintaining test automation frameworks for API, UI, and end-to-end testing.
- Extensive experience with Java, Selenium WebDriver, Cucumber, Karate, and modern test automation tools.
- Strong Core Java programming skills focused on automation framework development and test engineering best practices.
- Proven expertise in API testing, web services, REST APIs, and service-based architectures.
- Experience testing enterprise-scale web applications across functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing cycles.
- Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, test strategies, planning, defect management, and quality assurance processes.
- Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases for backend validation and data-driven testing.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum delivery models, Jira, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps delivery processes.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, critical-thinking, investigative, communication, collaboration, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Preferred experience includes financial services, Customer Onboarding, AML, KYC, and Client Lifecycle Management.
- Preferred experience includes performance, scalability, security, resilience, non-functional, test data management, and service virtualization testing.
- Preferred experience includes Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, AWS, Azure, Barclays Cloud Platform, Kafka, and MQ.
- Preferred familiarity with test reporting, monitoring, quality dashboards, Shift-Left testing, Test-Driven Development, and Behavior-Driven Development.
- Ability to mentor engineers and drive automation-first quality engineering practices.
