Responsibilities
- Drive architectural evolution and modernization of complex tax-engine platforms.
- Serve as a technical subject matter expert, mentor engineers, and lead a small team on challenging programming and design problems.
- Troubleshoot issues and configure appropriate monitoring, alerting, and logging systems, including investigating issues without existing diagnostic data.
- Evaluate design approaches and tools, build frameworks, and improve existing systems.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Intuit teams across US and India time zones and geographically distributed engineering centers.
- Support and manage backend integrations, web services, APIs, cloud-hosted applications, containerized systems, and observability tooling.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience working in an enterprise hosting complex systems.
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP cloud infrastructure.
- Strong programming experience in C#, Java, Go, Python, or Kotlin, preferably C#.
- 10+ years of experience with backend integration, web services, APIs, gRPC, REST/OData, GraphQL, JSON, XML, and Protocol Buffers.
- Experience hosting and managing Spring Boot web services and Java applications in AWS and Kubernetes.
- Strong understanding of Docker and container orchestration technologies such as ECS, EKS, and Kubernetes.
- Experience with unit, functional, scale, and load testing and tools including Chai, Mocha, Jasmine, Karma, WebDriver, Nightwatch, and JMeter.
- Experience with build systems, CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps and Jenkins, application analytics, and monitoring.
- Experience with Git, GitHub repositories, Nexus, Artifactory, package managers such as yum, rpm, and apt, Linux/Unix, and advanced Bash scripting.
- Understanding of secure coding and operations practices; vulnerability management experience is a plus.
- Experience with metrics, monitoring, and alerting tools including Splunk, Wavefront, AppDynamics, Prometheus, and PagerDuty.
- Strong communication, troubleshooting, self-direction, cross-functional collaboration, and stakeholder-management abilities.
