Responsibilities
- Architect, build, deploy, and maintain scalable, high-performance client-side and server-side software.
- Lead technical decision-making for a squad of approximately 5–7 engineers, including architecture, design patterns, code quality, security, and performance.
- Write and review code, design APIs, and develop user interfaces, services, and databases.
- Mentor and coach engineers while fostering continuous learning and technical excellence.
- Deploy and manage containerized applications on AWS using Terraform and Kubernetes.
- Champion automated testing, Test-Driven Development, and reliable deployment practices.
- Manage observability and system-health visibility using DataDog or similar tools.
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Engineering Managers, UX teams, and other engineers to turn product challenges into technical solutions.
Requirements
- Current experience as a Lead Engineer or Tech Lead leading a small team of software engineers.
- Extensive knowledge of TypeScript, JavaScript, Node.js, React, AWS, GraphQL, Kubernetes, Kafka, and Mongo.
- Experience building and operating robust, always-on APIs and underlying services and databases.
- Familiarity with AWS services including EKS, Lambda, and Aurora RDS.
- Experience with automated testing frameworks such as Jest and Pact.
- Experience deploying and running systems end-to-end using Terraform, Helm, Kubernetes, and containerized workloads.
- Substantial experience managing and configuring CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions.
- Experience with observability tools such as DataDog or similar.
- Comfort working with Git, Confluence, Jira, and modern engineering workflows.
- Demonstrated experience mentoring engineers, reviewing designs, and guiding technical direction.
- Ability to solve product challenges pragmatically while maintaining engineering excellence.
