Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance backend APIs and microservices.
- Translate complex networking and security requirements into scalable software logic for the network automation platform.
- Guide software architecture decisions and contribute to the platform’s technical evolution.
- Champion software quality through unit testing, integration testing, automated testing, and blocking CI/CD pipelines.
- Collaborate with developers, Product Owners, and external network experts to integrate features and expand network coverage.
- Mentor team members, provide technical leadership, and facilitate knowledge transfer through activities such as pair programming.
- Identify technical debt and implement sustainable fixes using dedicated OPEX capacity.
- Produce thorough technical documentation in Confluence and participate in Agile ceremonies.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of professional software development experience.
- Excellent proficiency in Python and modern backend frameworks such as FastAPI.
- Strong understanding of cloud-native microservices architecture and deployment.
- Hands-on experience with OpenShift or Kubernetes in a private or public cloud environment.
- Strong background in CI/CD practices and automated testing, including TDD and integration testing.
- Good knowledge of TypeScript, SQL databases, object-oriented programming, and SOLID principles.
- Familiarity with a frontend framework, preferably Vue.js.
- Experience working in a structured Agile software development team using Scrum or Kanban.
- Understanding of networking and cybersecurity concepts.
- Exposure to Fortinet, Cisco, Meraki, or Arista is considered a significant asset.
- Interest or foundational knowledge in integrating LLMs, RAG, or LangChain into enterprise software.
- Experience with event-driven architecture technologies such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
- Adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
