Responsibilities
- Research, design, build, and test software features and system components.
- Diagnose and fix bugs, performance bottlenecks, and other system errors.
- Collaborate with domestic and international ACS teams.
- Write clear technical and design documentation for new features.
- Participate in code reviews and pull requests and incorporate team feedback.
- Design scalable, available, resilient, and cost-effective cloud applications and select appropriate technologies and tools.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or significant equivalent experience.
- At least 5 years of backend and distributed-systems engineering experience.
- At least 3 years of experience developing backend solutions with Node.js, or a willingness to learn Node.js.
- Expertise with SQL/Postgres databases.
- Ability to design scalable, available, resilient, and cost-effective cloud applications, preferably with AWS.
- Strong communication skills for working with managers, customers, and software developers.
- Ability to translate complex software problems into technical tasks.
- Ability to work effectively in a remote-friendly distributed team and manage multiple projects.
