Responsibilities
- Design, implement, test, deploy, and operate highly available distributed services and automation for configuring and migrating large-scale telemetry workloads.
- Build and enhance APIs, tools, and subsystems for telemetry collection, routing, storage, and efficient data access.
- Integrate machine-learning-based anomaly detection and data validation capabilities.
- Implement monitoring, alerting, and diagnostics, and operate production services through on-call rotations and incident response.
- Collaborate with partner teams on end-to-end observability solutions, design reviews, engineering standards, and architectural alignment.
- Develop repeatable AI-assisted engineering patterns for productivity and quality, including operational applications in site reliability engineering, support, and service administration.
- Mentor engineers and communicate technical tradeoffs, risks, sequencing, and delivery plans with cross-organization stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related technical field and 4+ years of technical engineering experience with coding, or equivalent experience.
- Coding experience in one or more of C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud Background Check.
- Experience with cloud-native infrastructure, distributed systems, or large-scale production services is preferred.
- Experience improving reliability, security, observability, networking, or operational excellence for live services is preferred.
- Experience partnering across teams to deliver infrastructure capabilities with clear ownership and supportability is preferred.
- Experience mentoring engineers, leading design reviews, and driving cross-team architectural alignment is preferred.
