Responsibilities
- Design, develop, modify, integrate, test, debug, and document complex information systems, programs, subroutines, and scripts.
- Support and modernize EDI, interoperability, and FHIR capabilities across batch and real-time processing.
- Develop system test plans and data verification methods and establish standard system procedures.
- Troubleshoot system failures, performance events, platform issues, and data-processing problems to reduce downtime and prevent recurrence.
- Maintain and improve the reliability and security of applications and servers across on-premises, OpenShift, and cloud environments.
- Provide expert technical guidance to development staff throughout application development and implementation.
- Research software and hardware products to support recommendations, budgeting, and purchasing efforts.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience is required.
- At least 5 years of systems and programming experience is required.
- At least 1 year of experience with information technology concepts, application development methodology, terminology, and standards is required.
- At least 1 year of expert working knowledge of a programming language used at BCBST is required.
- Experience supporting enterprise applications and Windows Server environments, with advanced SQL Server skills, is required.
- Experience with scripting and automation, including PowerShell and AIX Korn shell, is required.
- Understanding of FHIR standards and experience with healthcare data and/or EDI are required.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex platform and data-processing issues and proactively address vulnerabilities and system health is required.
- Preferred qualifications include Ansible Automation Platform experience with playbooks, vaults, configuration management, and CI/CD integration.
- Preferred qualifications include working knowledge of Java and related technologies and familiarity with Microsoft Azure, OpenShift, REST, SOAP, and Web Services.
- Strong analysis, design, coding, leadership, communication, organization, reliability, and multitasking skills are required.
