Base Salary
$105k - $175k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable self-service tools and automated workflows for data ingestion, creation, sharing, and usage.
- Mentor junior engineers on technical development, best practices, code quality, and platform functionality.
- Collaborate with data engineers, data scientists, software engineers, and business partners to deliver reliable, user-friendly platform solutions.
- Implement monitoring and alerting to maintain platform reliability and resolve issues proactively.
- Drive continuous improvement of platform infrastructure for robustness, scalability, adaptability, and ease of adoption.
- Research and integrate tools and technologies that improve platform performance and innovation.
- Create and maintain technical documentation and user guides for platform users and internal teams.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in platform engineering, software development, or a related field.
- Experience designing and developing scalable, reusable, user-friendly self-service tools.
- Strong proficiency in at least one programming language, preferably Python, with the ability to write clean, documented code.
- Experience designing, deploying, and managing large-scale systems on cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, with GCP preferred.
- Experience mentoring junior engineers and promoting software engineering best practices.
- Experience collaborating with data engineers, data scientists, and software engineers.
- Ability to write clear documentation and communicate technical concepts.
- Production experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated build tools such as Jenkins or CircleCI.
- Experience with orchestration tools such as Airflow, Argo, Flyte, or Kubeflow.
- Preferred: experience with infrastructure as code and automated infrastructure management using Terraform, Ansible, or Helm.
- Preferred: experience with monitoring and logging tools such as DataDog, Prometheus, or Grafana.
- Preferred: experience with batch and streaming data tools such as Spark, Hadoop, Kafka, or Pub/Sub.
- Preferred: understanding of machine learning processes, model types, workflows, and terminology.
