Responsibilities

  • Drive weekly releases from branch cut through full production rollout across release tracks.
  • Manage phased deployments across global production clusters using Terraform and internal tooling.
  • Deploy configuration changes, resolve Terraform drift, and maintain cluster maintenance and certificate windows.
  • Triage the Linear queue, investigate customer-reported cluster issues, and facilitate the weekly Production Ops meeting.
  • Maintain CI health across EngFlow-managed repositories by investigating flaky tests and other failures.
  • Coordinate production incidents and deploy hotfixes or configuration changes within maintenance windows.
  • Improve runbooks, handover processes, and operational workflows to reduce team toil.

Requirements

  • Experience owning production deployments for a distributed or cloud-hosted service.
  • Hands-on Terraform experience with AWS, GCP, and other cloud providers.
  • Familiarity with Bazel, Gradle, Maven, or CMake build systems.
  • Experience operating CI systems, investigating failures, and managing flaky tests.
  • Proficiency with Linux and shell-based log analysis, scripting, and debugging.
  • Strong written English and asynchronous communication skills.
  • Ability to take ownership of operational outcomes and escalate when needed.
  • Direct experience with Bazel or the Remote Execution API (REAPI).
  • Programming proficiency in Java, Go, Python, or TypeScript for automation and internal tooling.
  • Experience with PagerDuty and Linear, or equivalent incident and issue-tracking workflows.
  • Background in platform or DevOps engineering at a product-led company.
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes or container orchestration in production.
