Base Salary
$114k - $165k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of Spring and Spring Boot microservices-based architectures.
- Architect and build real-time streaming applications using Apache Kafka.
- Define technical strategy and oversee the software development lifecycle from requirements through deployment.
- Mentor engineers and conduct design and code reviews.
- Promote TDD, BDD, system design, testing, DevOps, and CI/CD best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, reliable, scalable software.
- Optimize application performance, resolve complex technical issues, and support high availability and maintainability.
- Use AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot and ChatGPT.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 7 years of professional software development experience, including at least 2 years in a lead or mentorship role.
- Strong expertise in Java 17 or later, Spring, Spring Boot, and RESTful web services.
- Deep understanding of microservices architecture, distributed systems, software design patterns, and system architecture.
- Experience building real-time streaming applications with Apache Kafka.
- Experience with SQL databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL and NoSQL databases such as MongoDB or Cassandra.
- Proficiency in Hibernate, JPA, and ORM concepts.
- Understanding and application of TDD and BDD methodologies, Git, and CI/CD practices.
- Preferred qualifications include knowledge of gRPC, AWS technologies, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Strong problem-solving, debugging, leadership, and collaboration skills, with familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
