Responsibilities
- Define reference architectures for MCP servers and custom connectors, including transport, authentication, schema/versioning, error semantics, and observability.
- Design and review connector specifications for Coupa, NetSuite, SAP, Workday, Salesforce, and external partner APIs.
- Establish security and governance patterns for OAuth2/OIDC, credential and secrets management, least-privilege agent access, and audit logging.
- Own the integration team’s technical roadmap and backlog prioritization in partnership with the Sr. Director.
- Provide architecture reviews and code-level guidance to AI Integration Engineers and resolve design decisions.
- Evaluate platform components including iPaaS, orchestration frameworks, agent SDKs, and API gateways.
- Define testing and evaluation standards for connector reliability and agent tool-calling correctness.
- Act as the technical escalation point for connector and MCP infrastructure production incidents.
- Partner with Security, Data Governance, and Enterprise Architecture on SOC 2, data residency, and PII requirements.
Requirements
- 8+ years of software or integration engineering experience, including 3+ years in an architect or technical lead role.
- Deep hands-on experience building enterprise-scale API integrations and connectors using REST, GraphQL, gRPC, webhooks, and event streaming.
- Working knowledge of MCP or comparable agent-tool-calling frameworks, including transport, schema, and session-lifecycle tradeoffs.
- Strong command of at least one of Python or TypeScript/Node.js, with the ability to read the other.
- Practical experience with LLM and agent frameworks such as Anthropic SDKs, OpenAI SDKs, LangChain, or LangGraph, and with tool-calling design patterns.
- Experience with OAuth2, OIDC, SAML, API security, and secrets management using tools such as Vault or cloud secret managers.
- Cloud platform experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure and containerization experience with Docker or Kubernetes.
- Experience integrating enterprise ERP, finance, or procurement systems; Coupa, NetSuite, or SAP experience is a strong plus.
- Excellent written English communication skills and the ability to produce architecture documentation and lead design reviews with global stakeholders.
