Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable, performant, and reliable software systems.
- Take on engineering maintenance, compliance, cost-savings, observability, experiment cleanup, and operational tooling work.
- Contribute to system architecture and technical design, validating solutions through data and experimentation when appropriate.
- Clarify requirements and perform mid-level design work focused on coding, testing, and documentation.
- Participate in code and design reviews.
- Collaborate with software engineers, product managers, data scientists, and designers.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of professional, backend-focused software development experience.
- Experience with Java and/or Kotlin.
- Experience with MongoDB Atlas or a similar modern NoSQL database.
- Experience with Aurora MySQL on AWS or a similar relational database.
- Experience building cloud-native distributed systems on AWS.
- Experience with Spring Boot and GraphQL API development using Netflix DGS.
- Experience building and operating large-scale, high-performance, resilient systems.
- Strong English communication and collaboration skills.
- Preferred experience with Kafka and/or SQS, Terraform, gRPC, REST API development, and AI-assisted coding.
