Base Salary
$119k - $203k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of Appian interfaces, process models, records, integrations, and data structures.
- Provide hands-on technical leadership for an Appian development team and oversee day-to-day delivery execution.
- Translate business and functional requirements into technical designs and Appian implementations.
- Review designs and configurations for Appian best practices, performance, scalability, security, and maintainability.
- Coach and mentor developers and conduct design and code reviews.
- Support performance tuning, scaling, and root-cause analysis for complex technical issues.
- Identify and resolve technical risks, dependencies, and delivery challenges with program leadership.
- Create and maintain architecture diagrams, interface designs, implementation guidelines, and other technical documentation.
- Drive delivery efficiency through reuse, automation, workflow simplification, and reductions in cycle time, rework, and technical debt.
- Evaluate Appian releases and newer capabilities, modernize legacy implementations, and develop phased improvement plans.
- Introduce platform optimization recommendations, proof-of-concepts, and innovation ideas to internal and client leadership.
- Drive measurable improvements in release stability, performance, scalability, and maintainability.
Requirements
- 7+ years of application development experience, including 5+ years of deep hands-on Appian experience in complex enterprise environments.
- 5+ years of experience leading Appian development teams with accountability for delivery outcomes, code quality, and release stability.
- 5+ years of experience designing BPM and workflow-based solutions in large-scale environments.
- 5+ years of experience building and supporting Appian integrations, APIs, services, and data exchanges.
- 5+ years of experience identifying and implementing platform or delivery improvements with measurable efficiency, stability, or scalability gains.
- 5+ years of experience modernizing legacy Appian implementations and reducing technical debt through refactoring, reuse strategies, and improved design patterns.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience designing, optimizing, and supporting enterprise database systems used in Appian applications.
- 5+ years of experience working in agile delivery environments, including multi-team programs or large initiatives.
- Strong understanding of application architecture, integration patterns, performance, scalability, security, and BPM concepts.
- Ability to balance hands-on development with team leadership and technical oversight.
- Strong communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Appian Certified Lead Developer certification, or the ability to obtain it within a defined timeframe.
- Preferred experience includes scaled agile delivery, cross-team coordination, release planning, enterprise backlog alignment, performance testing and tuning, cloud-based Appian solutions, and adoption of newer Appian capabilities.
- SAFe or another agile certification is preferred.
