Base Salary

$118k - $152k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, document, test, deploy, and maintain software systems, applications, and AWS-hosted services.
  • Translate business and technical requirements into software designs, technical specifications, and implementation decisions.
  • Contribute to architecture, code reviews, implementation, technical documentation, delivery planning, and operational readiness.
  • Build infrastructure-as-code, deployment automation, repeatable environment configuration, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Apply AWS security practices including identity and access controls, encryption, secrets management, secure configuration, vulnerability remediation, and logging.
  • Implement monitoring, alerting, tracing, dashboards, performance improvements, capacity management, resilience, fault tolerance, recovery, and continuity.
  • Troubleshoot complex issues across application, infrastructure, database, integration, and network layers.
  • Support testing and production operations, including incident response, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and follow-through.
  • Develop and maintain unit, functional, integration, regression, performance, and system tests.
  • Evaluate technologies and AWS capabilities, collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, and support multiple initiatives.
  • Mentor software engineers and provide guidance on design, coding, testing, cloud engineering, troubleshooting, and development practices.

Requirements

  • Typically five years of experience or a demonstrated portfolio consistent with the role’s requirements.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, information systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience designing, developing, testing, and supporting production software applications.
  • Hands-on experience developing or operating applications in AWS.
  • Proficiency in at least one applicable programming language, such as Java, C#, C++, Python, or JavaScript.
  • Experience with SQL, relational databases or other application-appropriate data-storage technologies.
  • Experience with source-code management, peer reviews, automated testing, software development lifecycle practices, APIs, web services, distributed systems, event-driven processing, or asynchronous patterns.
  • Experience with AWS infrastructure, deployment automation, infrastructure-as-code, troubleshooting across technical layers, and test or production support.
  • Ability to prepare technical designs, assess alternatives, communicate recommendations, collaborate in an iterative development environment, and mentor engineers.
  • Preferred qualifications include AWS services and certification, CloudFormation, CDK, Terraform, containers, orchestration platforms, CI/CD pipelines, highly available AWS solutions, cost monitoring, observability, distributed tracing, centralized logging, automated testing, secure coding, UML, object-oriented design, service-oriented architecture, or domain-driven design.
