Responsibilities
- Build and operate production LLM-powered agentic systems, including tools, planning and execution loops, orchestration, evaluations, and safety guardrails.
- Develop full-stack solutions spanning user experience, backend data layers, services, and APIs using TypeScript, JavaScript, React, and other programming languages.
- Own medium-to-large features end to end, including design, implementation, deployment, monitoring, production iteration, and customer feedback integration.
- Design, run, and optimize evaluations for agentic systems, including tools, prompts, and agent loops.
- Apply AI-assisted development tools, automation, Security-by-Design, and Responsible AI principles throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Improve observability, progressive delivery, reliability, incident response, and operational workflows for production systems.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, customers, and partner teams to deliver scalable solutions.
- Mentor and coach engineers, provide technical direction, and raise engineering quality standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field and 4+ years of technical engineering experience, or equivalent experience.
- At least 4 years of production software development experience using languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
- Hands-on experience building and operating LLM-powered agentic systems in production with ownership of quality, reliability, and iteration.
- Expertise in LLM and generative AI application development, including prompt engineering, agent SDKs, AI orchestration frameworks, and agentic development patterns.
- Familiarity with multi-step reasoning, tool or function calling, retrieval-augmented generation, and human-in-the-loop workflows.
- Experience with AI-assisted software development tools and workflows, including GitHub Copilot, Copilot Workspace, agentic plugins, agents, skills, and hooks.
- Strong systems design, performance, debugging, algorithms, testing, code review, data structures, and software engineering fundamentals.
- Experience designing, running, and optimizing evaluations for agentic systems.
- Preferred experience with cloud services or AI systems, large-scale production systems, RESTful APIs or GraphQL services, and SQL or NoSQL databases.
- Ability to lead technical direction, mentor peers, collaborate across disciplines, work through ambiguity, and meet Microsoft, customer, or government security screening requirements.
