Responsibilities
- Lead the analysis, design, development, implementation, and support of complex applications, services, and databases.
- Translate business and technical requirements into scalable, secure, maintainable software solutions and application components.
- Develop backend APIs, services, integrations, and modern web application components using approved technologies.
- Manage code promotion across development, testing, and production environments and provide post-implementation production support.
- Troubleshoot issues, support change management, maintain documentation, and contribute throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced engineers and help resolve complex technical challenges.
- Participate in architecture reviews, design discussions, code reviews, testing activities, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Communicate technical considerations, trade-offs, project status, and system impacts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ensure solutions meet information technology, information security, risk management, regulatory compliance, architectural, and operational standards.
- Contribute to enterprise application modernization, operational excellence, maintenance, enhancements, innovation, and strategic technology programs.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in software development, system integration, database design, and backend architecture.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, or a Master’s degree or Diploma in Computer Science.
- Experience with UI development, server-side development, system integration, API management, optimization, debugging, and performance tuning.
- Experience building modern web applications with React, Angular, or similar front-end frameworks.
- Experience developing backend APIs and services with Java, Spring Boot, Python, Node.js, or related technologies.
- Proficiency with Java, Spring Boot, Angular, Node.js, AWS, CloudFormation, ECS, Fargate, DynamoDB, S3, Lambda, IAM, SNS, SQS, Glue, Step Functions, Athena, SQL queries, GitHub, Splunk, Honeycomb, PySpark, and CloudWatch.
- Experience with microservices and event-driven architecture.
- Proficiency with DevOps concepts, Git, GitHub, and continuous delivery pipelines.
- Knowledge of Confluence and JIRA and an aptitude for continuous process improvement.
- Proficiency with generative AI tools such as Claude Code and Copilot Agent.
- Preferred certifications include AWS Cloud Practitioner, AWS Solutions Architect, AWS Solution Consultant, and Databricks.
- Strong communication, collaboration, quality, reliability, scalability, and observability skills.
