Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain network protocol stacks across various network layers.
- Implement and enhance TCP, UDP, IP, ICMP, ARP, socket libraries, and network drivers.
- Troubleshoot network issues and profile and optimize latency, throughput, packet loss, scalability, and reliability.
- Collaborate with hardware engineers, firmware developers, system architects, and cross-functional teams on software integration.
- Document usage guidelines, best practices, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Explore emerging network protocol technologies and standards.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to architectural decisions.
- Develop product features according to customer requirements and mentor junior team members.
- Support certification of safety-critical features and functionality.
Requirements
- BTech, MTech, or equivalent technical degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field.
- 6–10 years of experience in protocol stack or network stack development and 14–18 years of overall experience.
- Experience in embedded software development and familiarity with at least one RTOS, such as QNX, VxWorks, or FreeRTOS.
- Proficiency in developing software stacks using C and C++.
- Experience with TCP/IP, UDP, HTTP, and socket programming.
- Knowledge of software development and verification standards such as DO178C.
- Knowledge of TLS/SSL and IPsec security protocols and performance optimization techniques.
- Linux/Unix networking and kernel-space development experience is an added advantage.
- Strong debugging, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and mentoring abilities.
