Responsibilities
- Conduct feasibility studies, estimates, IT planning, risk analysis, application development, and model development.
- Design, develop, test, package, and support Python-based Generative AI and agentic applications.
- Build secure REST APIs and microservices with FastAPI or Flask, including asynchronous processing and structured-output handling.
- Implement retrieval-augmented generation using embeddings and vector databases, and evaluate retrieval and model quality.
- Integrate agent tools using MCP or comparable patterns and contribute to multi-agent orchestration.
- Manage application analysis, design, construction, testing, implementation, and operational support.
- Recommend security, control, responsible AI, documentation, and engineering-practice measures.
- Consult with users and technology groups, communicate technical options, provide production support, and contribute to code reviews and knowledge sharing.
- Coach lower-level analysts and act as a subject matter expert and advisor to stakeholders.
- Assess and escalate technology, compliance, control, and operational risks appropriately.
Requirements
- 7–9 years of relevant software engineering experience.
- Strong hands-on Python application development and enterprise software delivery and support experience.
- Experience with FastAPI or Flask, asynchronous programming, automated testing, and Python packaging.
- Hands-on experience with at least two agentic or AI frameworks, such as LangGraph, LangChain, Google ADK, AutoGen, CrewAI, LlamaIndex, or Hugging Face.
- Experience with vector databases such as PostgreSQL/pgvector or FAISS, embeddings, retrieval-augmented generation, and retrieval or model evaluation.
- Experience with MCP or comparable agent tool-integration patterns, REST API and microservices design, SQL, Git, code reviews, and technical documentation.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes.
- Preferred qualifications include financial-services or regulated-industry experience, cloud-native development, locally hosted or open-source large language model experience, multi-agent orchestration, AI observability and guardrail tooling, responsible AI awareness, and secure AI engineering practices.
- Familiarity with CI/CD, Linux, containers, production monitoring concepts, structured-output and JSON handling, and Agile or SAFe delivery practices.
- Bachelor's degree or university degree, or equivalent experience.
