Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, delivery, and operational support of compliance and supervision technology solutions.
- Help build and lead engineering teams across multiple delivery streams, including coaching, mentoring, and career development for junior developers.
- Own end-to-end delivery of strategic technology initiatives and coordinate across product, architecture, infrastructure, security, and vendor teams.
- Provide technical oversight for enterprise-scale distributed systems using API-first, event-driven, microservices, and cloud-native architectures.
- Design integrations between vendor platforms, proprietary systems, and enterprise data services.
- Drive solution quality across scalability, resiliency, maintainability, security, testing, deployment, and operational stability.
- Ensure systems support regulatory obligations, supervisory requirements, auditability, traceability, entitlement controls, evidence, and monitoring.
- Support internal audits, regulatory reviews, remediation programs, and control assessments.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of technology delivery and software engineering experience.
- At least 3 years of experience leading engineering teams in large-scale enterprise environments.
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
- Strong hands-on Java development experience; JDK 17+ is preferred.
- Experience developing REST or GraphQL APIs with Spring Boot or a similar framework.
- Strong SQL experience with a relational database management system.
- Experience with messaging technologies such as Kafka.
- Experience deploying with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with workflow engines such as Camunda, Activiti, or jBPM.
- Strong experience leading Agile delivery at scale, including backlog execution, dependency management, continuous improvement, and outcomes.
- Experience with search engines such as Apache Solr, OpenSearch, or Elasticsearch is preferred.
- Experience with CI/CD, GitHub Actions, Terraform, SonarQube, or Veracode is preferred.
- Experience with big data technologies, data analytics, and AI is preferred.
- Experience working across geographically distributed teams is preferred.
- Experience in highly regulated financial services, trade surveillance, market abuse monitoring, or global markets is preferred.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, collaboration, prioritization, and team leadership skills.
