Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain R packages supporting data engineering, statistical analyses, automation, and clinical reporting workflows.
  • Design, build, deploy, and maintain Shiny applications for interactive dashboards and data exploration.
  • Collaborate with statistical programmers, statisticians, clinical reporting teams, and Product Owners to define and implement efficient, reproducible solutions.
  • Apply AI and agentic approaches responsibly to product design, development workflows, and data-driven applications.
  • Drive adoption of tooling through demonstrations, pilots, training, documentation, and support.
  • Identify opportunities for user-experience improvement and modernization across the clinical reporting lifecycle.
  • Promote software development and data science best practices, including documentation and rigorous testing.
  • Engage with open-source communities and external collaborations.

Requirements

  • MSc in a quantitative or computational science or equivalent.
  • Experience as an R developer.
  • Deep knowledge of data manipulation with tidyverse and data visualization with ggplot2 and plotly.
  • Experience developing production-grade R packages with comprehensive documentation and rigorous testing frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience deploying and maintaining R applications in production environments.
  • High proficiency in Shiny application development and deployment.
  • Deep experience with software development best practices, virtual environments, git, CI/CD, and code review.
  • Hands-on experience applying AI and agentic approaches to improve developer productivity for data-driven applications.
  • Good written English and a solution-oriented, collaborative approach.
  • Desirable: understanding of drug development and regulatory requirements for computer systems and tools.
  • Desirable: knowledge of Quarto, workflow automation, or metadata-driven reporting.
  • Desirable: participation in pharmaceutical-sector open-source projects such as R Consortium, pharmaverse, openpharma, or openstatware.

Benefits

  • Annual base salary range of €63,490.00–€117,910.00 EUR.
