Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture and design of scalable, high-performance time-series, OLAP, and OLTP database solutions.
- Evaluate and implement SQL and NoSQL technologies, including data models, complex queries, stored procedures, indexing, and performance optimization.
- Manage high-frequency time-series ingestion, query processing, partitioning, sharding, replication, storage, reliability, and data integrity.
- Collaborate with cloud backend engineering teams to design ETL pipelines across storage systems.
- Partner with AI engineers, software engineers, data engineering, analytics, and product teams to deliver database solutions.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.
- Research database technologies and contribute to internal tools and frameworks for database development and operations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 10+ years of database engineering experience focused on SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Expertise designing and managing high-scale time-series databases and OLAP/OLTP systems.
- Advanced SQL skills, including query optimization, indexing, and stored procedure development.
- Strong experience with NoSQL databases and data modeling techniques.
- Deep understanding of time-series data architecture and performance tuning.
- Experience with OLAP technologies such as Apache Druid or ClickHouse.
- Familiarity with AWS RDS, Google Cloud BigQuery, Terraform, or CloudFormation.
- Strong programming skills in technologies such as Golang, Java, or Scala.
- Preferred experience with Apache Kafka, real-time analytics, data warehousing, Docker, and Kubernetes.
