Responsibilities
- Work hands-on with Apache Spark, Apache Iceberg, and streaming infrastructure to diagnose performance issues and build scalable systems.
- Contribute to technical strategy and architectural decisions for critical data platform initiatives.
- Design and evolve developer-facing platform APIs and abstractions that enable engineering self-service.
- Align stakeholders across engineering, product, and leadership on architectural changes.
- Mentor engineers and improve engineering practices across the organization.
- Use AI tooling to increase individual and team productivity.
Requirements
- 8+ years of software engineering experience with meaningful experience in data platforms or distributed systems.
- Deep expertise in Apache Spark and Apache Iceberg.
- Strong experience with streaming infrastructure such as Apache Kafka, Apache Pulsar, or similar technologies.
- Experience with cloud-native data platforms on AWS.
- Experience designing internal platforms and developer-facing abstractions.
- Ability to drive technical alignment across multi-team environments and communicate architectural direction effectively.
- Databricks experience is a bonus.
