Base Salary

$150k - $217k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Provide global 24-hour customer support as part of a team of developers and consultants.
  • Manage customer problems through diagnosis, resolution, and development of investigation tools for Google Cloud Platform products.
  • Act as a technical consultant and subject matter expert for sales and customer organizations to resolve deployment obstacles.
  • Troubleshoot, reproduce, and determine root causes of customer-reported issues while building tools for faster diagnosis.
  • Improve Google Cloud product supportability, products, processes, and documentation in partnership with product, development, and Site Reliability teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Nine years of experience reading and debugging Java, C, C++, software frameworks, Python, Shell, Perl, or JavaScript.
  • Nine years of experience troubleshooting and advocating for customer needs and triaging hardware, software, application, operational, and process issues.
  • Experience working with SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Preferred experience with virtualization, Docker, containers, Kubernetes, image repositories, docker client, and kubectl.
  • Preferred experience writing and executing SQL queries against large datasets and log files, troubleshooting technical issues, and analyzing usage patterns.
  • Preferred in-depth network troubleshooting experience, including collecting and reading packet captures.
  • Preferred knowledge of HTTP, web frameworks, common web technologies, data structures, Linux/Unix, operating systems, file systems, and client-server protocols.

Benefits

  • US base pay is $150000–$217000 USD plus a 15% bonus target, equity, and benefits; Canada base pay is $144000–$147000 CAD plus a 15% bonus target, equity, and benefits.
  • Requires shift-pattern or non-standard work hours, including possible weekend work.
  • The role is part of a global 24x7 support organization.
