Base Salary
$345k - $410k/yr
Responsibilities
- Define and lead the technical strategy for AI and machine learning systems supporting recommendations, ranking, personalization, engagement, and safety.
- Design, develop, and deploy scalable production models using frameworks such as PyTorch.
- Build and deploy production AI agents using raw and fine-tuned large language models, sub-agents, tools, and MCP integrations.
- Architect end-to-end ML pipelines covering data processing, model training, evaluation, and deployment using tools such as Spark and Airflow.
- Drive experimentation frameworks, including A/B testing and offline evaluation, to improve model and product outcomes.
- Partner with Product, Engineering, Data Science, and Analytics leadership to translate business challenges into scalable ML solutions.
- Mentor senior individual contributors and raise ML engineering standards across the organization.
- Own complex, ambiguous initiatives from insight through impact while championing responsible AI, fairness, transparency, and user safety.
Requirements
- Typically 10–15 years of experience, with equivalent skills from alternative backgrounds also considered.
- Deep machine learning expertise and hands-on experience building and deploying large-scale production systems.
- Strong Python proficiency and experience with at least one major ML framework, such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
- Experience with recommendation systems, ranking models, or NLP.
- Expertise in prompting and fine-tuning large language models and building production AI agents.
- Experience designing scalable data and ML pipelines with Spark, Airflow, or similar distributed systems.
- Ability to operate as a senior individual contributor and influence technical strategy without direct authority.
- Experience collaborating across functions, owning outcomes in complex environments, and mentoring or uplifting others.
- Strong AI fluency, including the ability to design, evaluate, optimize, and guide responsible application of ML systems.
