Responsibilities
- Design, code, and launch backend features and services for restaurant partners and their customers
- Identify high-impact technical opportunities and develop creative solutions
- Own initiatives from concept through production while collaborating with product, design, and other teams
- Select and use appropriate technologies, including Python, Go, Ruby, and cloud services
- Collaborate with a distributed team of 5 to 8 backend engineers through code reviews and idea development
- Ensure service quality and performance through coding best practices, testing, monitoring, logging, alerting, and DevOps
Requirements
- Experience building scalable backend systems with Python and Flask
- Experience working with databases and cloud services
- Ability to use monitoring and logging tools to maintain healthy systems
- Technology-agnostic approach with the ability to learn languages and frameworks such as Go and Ruby
- Ability to own problems end to end and work effectively in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment
- Strong asynchronous communication and collaboration skills on a distributed team
- Product and customer focus with the ability to contribute opinions on product direction and design
- Creative problem-solving and willingness to experiment, adapt, and iterate
