Responsibilities
- Design and build solutions to highly complex technical problems using a deep understanding of the codebase and architecture.
- Shape technical direction, architecture, engineering standards, and practices across the company.
- Ensure solutions meet security, performance, cost, reliability, maintainability, and scalability requirements.
- Investigate complex issues across services, environments, clusters, and products, and improve operational and production support processes.
- Own undefined-scope, high-complexity work items through delivery and manage stakeholders across larger milestones.
- Contribute to product strategy, vision, and long-term roadmaps.
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, guidance, delegation, and growth support to engineers.
- Lead technical interviews for subject matter experts and leadership roles.
Requirements
- Deep expertise in modern backend languages, ideally Go or Python.
- Experience building and operating large-scale, cloud-native systems.
- Proven technical leadership in solving highly complex problems of undefined scope.
- Extensive experience investigating issues across multiple environments, clusters, and products.
- Ability to drive systemic improvements to operational and production support processes.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, collaboration, mentoring, and organizational-change skills.
- Ability to influence strategic departmental direction and champion engineering best practices.
