Responsibilities
- Design, install, configure, administer, upgrade, patch, tune, secure, and support enterprise database platforms.
- Build SQL Server environments across development, QA, production, and disaster recovery environments.
- Develop automated installation, configuration, provisioning, patching, backup, monitoring, health-check, and disaster recovery scripts.
- Build infrastructure-as-code solutions and standardized database deployment templates and automation frameworks.
- Develop CI/CD pipelines for database releases and platform changes.
- Maintain source-controlled deployment scripts and configuration repositories.
- Perform capacity planning, monitoring, troubleshooting, and production support for mission-critical applications.
- Partner with Cloud Engineering, Infrastructure, Security, and Application teams to deliver automated platform solutions.
Requirements
- Extensive hands-on experience deploying and supporting Microsoft SQL Server, including Always On Availability Groups, failover clustering, replication, backup, recovery, administration, and performance tuning.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure Virtual Machines, Storage, Networking, Monitoring, Backup, and Disaster Recovery.
- Experience administering Windows Server and using PowerShell for scripting and automation.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code using Terraform, Ansible, SaltStack, or similar technologies.
- Experience with CI/CD tools including Azure DevOps, GitHub, or Jenkins.
- Experience with performance tuning, capacity planning, monitoring, production support, and troubleshooting across databases, Windows, networking, and infrastructure components.
- Experience supporting mission-critical enterprise applications.
- Preferred experience with MongoDB, Apache Cassandra, Linux, Kubernetes, AWS, Databricks, and financial services.
