Responsibilities
- Drive the design and development of major architecture components and participate in requirements, design, coding, testing, debugging, and performance tuning.
- Conduct code reviews and design reviews while providing technical guidance and insights to peers.
- Improve DevOps, Agile, and CI/CD processes and drive API design excellence, including versioning, REST versus GraphQL, performance, and usability.
- Support on-call responsibilities and improve operational efficiency.
- Train and mentor junior engineers and provide technical direction.
- Own engineering initiatives and promote high ownership, continuous improvement, and engineering excellence.
- Perform complex technical analysis, debugging, root-cause analysis, and end-to-end resolution of high-severity customer issues.
- Review enterprise customer codebases, cloud configurations, and deployment pipelines to improve system health and resource utilization.
- Collaborate with Microsoft product and core engineering teams to turn customer telemetry and feature gaps into product updates.
- Author post-incident reviews and technical whitepapers and reduce MTTR through tooling and automated root-cause analysis.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience with a strong foundation in architecting and designing cloud services.
- Proficiency in Java and the Spring Framework, with expertise in J2EE, Spring MVC, REST APIs, LDAP, ADLDS, HTTP, SSL, multithreading, concurrency, distributed-system design, and JMS desired.
- Deep experience with distributed systems, cloud technologies, software architecture, and scalable services.
- Hands-on experience with AI APIs, LLM frameworks, or AI-assisted development tools is desired.
- Familiarity with prompt engineering, embeddings, vector search, AI application development, RAG architectures, AI observability, and AI security, governance, privacy, and responsible-AI practices is desirable.
- Knowledge of C++ and Windows internals is an added advantage.
- Strong leadership, mentoring, technical strategy, customer escalation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
