Responsibilities
- Design, build, improve, and maintain scalable Java and Spring Boot microservices for onboarding, purchases, subscriptions, content access, and other Telia Play capabilities.
- Design resilient distributed solutions, REST APIs, integrations, and architectural standards.
- Deploy and operate cloud-native services on AWS using EKS, ECS, EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, Kubernetes, Helm, and Docker.
- Promote clean and testable code, improve CI/CD and observability, support less-experienced engineers, and own solutions through production operation.
- Collaborate across the product organization and analyze complex technical problems while clearly communicating technical reasoning.
Requirements
- At least five years of professional backend development experience, primarily with modern Java; Java 21 or later is preferred.
- Strong hands-on knowledge of Spring Boot, Spring Security, REST APIs, data access, and service integration.
- Practical experience building and operating AWS solutions using Docker, Kubernetes, ideally Amazon EKS, and Helm.
- Understanding of microservices, event-driven integration patterns, software security, automated testing, observability, reliability, and performance.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, preferably GitHub Actions, and ownership of solutions from design through production.
- Advantageous experience includes GraphQL, Kafka or other event-streaming technologies, Terraform or AWS CloudFormation, OpenSearch, Istio or another service mesh, Prometheus, Grafana, high-availability or high-traffic consumer platforms, disaster recovery, and cloud or software security.
- Experience with large language models or practical AI integrations is beneficial but not required.
