Responsibilities
- Design, implement, develop, and tune software solutions and platforms supporting multidomain cyber-security services.
- Develop web applications, frontend and backend components, APIs, custom integrations, automation, ETL, data-ingestion, and data-orchestration pipelines.
- Integrate security platforms, application systems, data sources, SIEM, SOAR, and log-management systems.
- Drive continuous improvement by evaluating technologies, configurations, processes, workflows, automation, efficiency, and maintainability.
- Conduct technology scouting, benchmarking, and Proof-of-Concept or Proof-of-Value activities across software, automation, data engineering, AI, and cyber security.
- Engineer new services from prototyping through development leadership and present solutions to stakeholders and clients.
- Act as a technical reference for clients, internal teams, suppliers, and technology partners while supporting milestones and delivery quality.
- Prepare technical contributions to national and international bids, including requirements analysis, solution design, project planning, and effort estimation.
- Produce project documentation and support the definition of service processes, procedures, and workflows.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a STEM discipline, preferably computer science or engineering.
- At least three years of experience in Security Engineer and/or Software Engineer roles.
- Full-stack software development experience, including React or equivalent frontend technologies, backend and API development, Python, FastAPI, REST architectures, and NoSQL databases such as MongoDB.
- Experience developing automation, integration, and scripting components with Python or Bash.
- Experience designing and implementing ETL, data-ingestion, and data-processing pipelines.
- Knowledge of virtual machines, containers, orchestration platforms, DevOps/DevSecOps practices, code versioning, and software releases; Kubernetes experience is preferred.
- Ability to design custom integrations among platforms, application systems, data sources, and security components.
- Basic knowledge or experience integrating SIEM, SOAR, log-management, or Detection & Response tools.
- Knowledge of Java, Spring Cloud Gateway, and/or TypeScript is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of cloud infrastructure and the main hyperscalers AWS, Azure, and GCP is preferred.
- SOC, Managed Security Services Provider, or cyber-security project experience is a plus.
- Technical leadership, stakeholder communication, multidisciplinary collaboration, innovation, continuous improvement, and the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Excellent English proficiency, at least B1/B2 level.
- Availability for short business trips in Italy and abroad; cloud, software engineering, DevOps/DevSecOps, or cyber-security certifications are a plus.
