Base Salary

$168k - $227k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Lead architecture and design of highly available, low-latency Lambda data plane systems serving customer traffic across AWS Regions.
  • Set technical direction across teams and influence the Lambda roadmap.
  • Own complex problems end to end from customer needs through design, implementation, deployment, and operations.
  • Improve invocation latency, scaling speed, efficiency, security, and resilience.
  • Deliver new serverless compute experiences for web, event-driven, and instance-based workloads.
  • Mentor engineers and lead design and code reviews.
  • Set standards for observability, deployment safety, and incident response, and drive lasting operational improvements.
  • Collaborate with product managers, engineering leaders, and partner AWS teams.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
  • 5+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language.
  • 5+ years of leading design or architecture for new and existing systems, including reliability and scaling.
  • Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or engineering team lead.
  • Preferred: 5+ years covering the full software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations.
  • Preferred: bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
  • Preferred: experience designing, building, operating, and managing large-scale distributed systems or web services.
  • Preferred: experience with Java, C++, or other programming languages.
  • Preferred: experience with enterprise-scale infrastructure or development-based cloud programs or projects.
  • Preferred: experience leading large teams and hiring, developing, and managing high-performing technical teams.
