Responsibilities
- Build tools, services, and processes that improve scalability, performance, reuse, and adoption among web developers.
- Create and own the performance framework, including automated enhancements and performance best practices.
- Plan, execute, and automate performance tests for individual products and integrated systems.
- Develop self-service tools that improve application performance and developer productivity.
- Analyze performance test results, identify bottlenecks, and recommend performance improvements.
- Develop proofs of concept to evaluate new technologies and approaches.
- Optimize applications, databases, web infrastructure, networking, load balancing, and CDN services for distributed-system performance.
- Support continuous integration, deployment, monitoring, Docker image building, orchestration, maintenance, and pipelining.
Requirements
- 6+ years of software development experience with understanding of the full Software Delivery Lifecycle and a strong performance-engineering and automation mindset.
- Extensive experience with performance-testing tools such as Apache JMeter, LoadRunner, Gatling, Artillery, Puppeteer, and Cucumber, including scripting and test execution.
- Hands-on experience planning, executing, and automating performance tests.
- Strong programming or scripting ability in at least one language such as Ruby, Java, Go, or Python.
- Familiarity with AWS, Git, New Relic, Dynatrace, AppDynamics, SQL and NoSQL databases, HTTP/HTTPS, Apache, and Nginx.
- Ability to analyze performance results, identify bottlenecks, and provide recommendations.
- Awareness of performance-related security considerations, including DDoS attacks and mitigation techniques.
- Experience with Agile environments and DevOps practices for continuous integration, deployment, and performance monitoring.
- Understanding of Jenkins or Jenkins Pipelines, GitHub Actions, CircleCI, Sauce Labs, or Nexus.
- Understanding of front-end testing methodologies and frameworks such as JUnit, Jest, and Selenium-based test automation frameworks.
- Understanding of server infrastructure, networking, load balancers, and CDN services.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Technology, or equivalent experience.
- Preferred: experience with Heroku, Heroku Pipeline, Heroku CI, Review Apps, Salesforce metadata and sandbox management, Salesforce CI/CD pipelines, and Salesforce Administrator certification such as ADM-211 or ADM-301.
