Forward Deployed Cyber Security Engineer
Persistent SystemsResponsibilities
- Serve as the onsite technical security representative and primary liaison between customer operations and Persistent Systems engineering.
- Assess customer requirements, identify capability gaps, propose tailored solutions, and maintain rapid feedback loops.
- Develop, extend, and maintain security-focused tools, scripts, software modules, automation, and integration frameworks.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, and R&D teams to turn customer challenges into development efforts and product enhancements.
- Perform security assessments of systems, architectures, and networks and provide actionable recommendations.
- Support deployment, integration, and troubleshooting of secure systems in real-world operational environments.
- Translate complex technical concepts into concise guidance for users, stakeholders, and leadership.
Requirements
- Strong cybersecurity background with hands-on experience in security testing, hardening, incident response, or vulnerability analysis.
- Proficiency in software development or tool creation using Python, C++, Go, or similar technologies.
- Experience in forward-deployed or customer-facing roles, preferably in mission-driven environments.
- Ability to solve complex technical problems in fast-moving, resource-constrained field settings and collaborate across functions.
- U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.
- Preferred experience with secure communications systems, tactical networks, distributed architectures, DevSecOps workflows, CI/CD pipelines, or secure software lifecycle practices.
- Preferred background supporting government, defense, or critical infrastructure customers.
- Certifications such as CISSP, OSCP, CEH, CompTIA Security+, or equivalent are preferred; an active U.S. security clearance is also preferred.
