Responsibilities
- Lead technical execution of partner integrations, primarily across the Android ecosystem.
- Serve as the domain expert for the Crunchyroll Android TV application experience.
- Design and implement scalable solutions aligned with partner requirements and architectural standards.
- Build backend services and APIs and integrate B2B billing, metadata, and content services.
- Improve release processes, observability, operational workflows, performance, and reliability.
- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Business Development, and Program Management.
- Contribute to technical roadmaps and medium- to long-term Partner Engineering direction.
- Mentor engineers through code reviews, architectural discussions, and hands-on collaboration.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
- 8+ years of experience building and deploying complex systems, ideally with external partners.
- Experience with native Android development using Java or Kotlin.
- Strong understanding of client/server architectures and scalable system design.
- Experience building backend services and APIs.
- Experience with performance-sensitive Android applications, including constrained or low-end devices or embedded platforms.
- Ability to balance technical trade-offs with product and partner requirements.
- Confidence engaging technical and non-technical stakeholders across partner-facing technical and business domains.
- Experience integrating B2B APIs such as billing, metadata, or content services.
- Platform development experience with Smart TV, console, Apple TV, Android TV, or web-based applications is a strong plus.
- Familiarity with embedded devices, OEMs, SoC providers, or pay TV operators is preferred.
