Base Salary
$170k - $230k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and improve high-quality, scalable, maintainable, and performance-optimized software solutions.
- Build and enhance Java and C++ platforms supporting market data, analytics, order management, and resiliency services.
- Develop algorithmic trading logic, smart order routing strategies, and electronic execution workflows with Quant and Product teams.
- Design high-performance messaging systems using efficient binary protocols and lock-free patterns.
- Implement low-latency network and inter-process communication using UDP and related techniques.
- Apply JVM tuning, garbage collection optimization, unit testing, secure coding, code reviews, and knowledge sharing.
- Contribute to technical strategy, guide technical direction, advise stakeholders, and mentor less experienced specialists.
- Manage risks and strengthen controls while contributing to strategic, cross-functional technology initiatives.
Requirements
- Experience developing Core Java applications in high-throughput, low-latency environments.
- Experience designing high-performance messaging systems with efficient binary protocols and lock-free patterns.
- Experience with network and inter-process communication using UDP and related low-latency techniques.
- Experience with advanced JVM tuning and garbage collection strategies such as ZGC or Azul Zing.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for complex, performance-critical systems.
- Knowledge of electronic trading or execution platforms, equities markets, execution algorithms, or smart order routing is highly valued.
- Experience with market data platforms or vendors such as Exegy or Refinitiv is highly valued.
- Knowledge of network latency measurement and tuning tools and techniques is highly valued.
- Ability to guide technical direction, lead complex assignments, collaborate with senior stakeholders, and coach less experienced specialists.
