Responsibilities
- Own quality strategy and execution across applications and systems deployed to Apple Stores worldwide.
- Design and maintain automated test coverage while balancing it with exploratory testing.
- Test native iOS and macOS applications, backend services, web applications, APIs, contracts, and asynchronous distributed workflows end to end.
- Build and maintain automation, debug client applications and backend services, and perform root-cause analysis across networking, client, service, and content layers.
- Drive CI coverage, feature flags, staged rollouts, automated merge gates, and testability and observability practices.
- Make go/no-go decisions for user-acceptance testing, production validation, and customer-facing releases.
- Mentor QA engineers and communicate quality and release-readiness status to cross-functional and leadership stakeholders.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in software quality engineering, test automation, or software development.
- Technical leadership defining quality strategy across native clients, backend services, and delivery pipelines, including mentoring QA engineers.
- Experience testing native iOS and macOS applications on managed Apple devices using XCUITest and XCTest, including lifecycle, state restoration, log analysis, and triage.
- Proficiency in Swift and Python for automation and debugging client applications and backend services.
- Experience testing web applications and backend services using API and contract testing, browser automation such as Playwright, and data-driven validation.
- Experience testing asynchronous distributed workflows involving orchestration, retries, idempotency, partial failure, and eventual consistency, such as Temporal or Airflow.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control, including Jenkins, GitHub, Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, and Rundeck.
- BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Preferred: client performance profiling, degraded or offline network testing, observability tooling, test data and environment management, accessibility validation, and multi-locale testing.
