Responsibilities
- Participate in software development lifecycle activities including scope and work estimation, architecture, design, coding, unit testing, debugging, and maintenance.
- Translate customer needs into user stories and deliver working capabilities at the conclusion of each sprint.
- Design, develop, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines for structured and unstructured datasets in operational environments.
- Integrate databases, geospatial systems, enterprise data platforms, and APIs.
- Mentor software developers and participate in or lead sprint demonstrations and retrospectives.
- Collaborate with product teams to solve technical problems and communicate challenges, options, and recommended solutions.
- Support customer engagement and structured escalation processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
- 6+ years of relevant experience.
- Active Secret clearance.
- CompTIA Security+ certification or ability to obtain it within the onboarding window, meeting IAT II requirements under Directive 8570.1/8140.
- Strong Python experience with Polars, Pandas, and Pydantic, plus fluency with JSON and XML formats and supporting libraries.
- Experience with ETL/ELT pipelines, data engineering concepts, data modeling, data integration, and database design.
- Experience with Git or Subversion and development tools including Jira, Jenkins, JUnit, and GitLab.
- Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL/PostGIS, SQL Server, or Oracle.
- Practical AWS and container technology experience, with familiarity with DevSecOps frameworks.
- Experience integrating geospatial systems and enterprise data platforms or APIs such as the ESRI stack and ERDDAP.
- Preferred qualifications include large-scale ingestion and analytics workflows, orchestration and automation, data governance, Kafka or Kinesis, time-series data stores, AI/ML-enabled processing, ESRI tooling, DISA STIG checklists, OpenShift, Kubernetes, Podman, Terraform, CloudFormation, IRODS, Spring MVC, Java, C++, front-end technologies, Selenium, Citrus, and direct customer support.
